‘Dangers of Pre-Marital Sex’

Being a Seminar Presented by Mrs Ada Eze to the St. Pauls Catholic Parish Umuodagu Ntu Youths during Their Youth Mrs Ada Eze ChukuemekaWeek 18th-23rd August 2014

Pre-marital sex is referred to as sexual relation between two or more people prior to marriage. The meaning has shifted to all sexual relations a person had before a legal marriage.

Alternative terms for pre-marital sex include:

– Non-Marital sex.

– Young/Adolescent sex.

– Young-Adult sex.

Pre-marital sex can take the form of; – lesbianism, homosexuality, incest, masturbation, bestiality among others.

Today illicit sex is associated with millions of youths who are unaware of the dangers of pre-marital sex. Instead of youths to worship God with their precious time, they waste their time committing sin and destroying their future.

Ecclesiastes 12: 4 – “Remember now thy creator in days of thy youth while the evil days come not, nor the days draw nigh when thou shall say I have no pleasure in them”.

How/Why People Get Involved in Pre-Marital Sex

People find themselves in areas where lifestyle of boarder on committing sin. Places like the ghetto/slums or areas where there are no strict moral values, most of the time form part of the environment where youths learn evil ways fast. Therefore, things like smoking, rape, stealing pickpocketing, pre-marital sex, having girlfriends are some of the ridiculous practices seen in this kind of places.

Pre-marital sex also thrives in mixed schools. Having a lot of girls clustering around, send evil messages with peer groups encouraging one to have sex with as many girls as possible with the assurance that there will be no harm.

1Corinthians 16:9 “For a great door and effectual is opened unto me and there are many adversaries” –KJV.

Another reason young people indulge in pre-marital sex is their great curiosity to explore what sexual activity is all about. They do this without considering the damaging consequences. Here it may take the form of casual sex with one of the partners seeking to experience sex.

Cohabitation breeds sexual immorality. This has to do with couples living together in a long term relationship without marriage. Examples of people that fall into this category are betrothed couples who engage in sexual activity before the anticipated marriage.

Studies reveal that people who cohabit find it difficult to marry for obvious reasons. If that is the case, the question is why young people still cohabit?

It must be stated here also that the consequences of cohabitation is life-threatening and therefore should be avoided.

Consequences of Premarital Sex

Satan has caused much damage to the youths making them to commit fornication. Fornication is pre-marital sex. Damage which could not be repaired has been inflicted on young promising persons and the have to live with it for the rest of their lives.

God knows that there are dangers in pre-marital sex that is why He wants us to flee from youthful lust 2Timoty 2:22 “Flee youthful lusts but follow righteousness, faith, charity, and peace with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart”.

Sex is a powerful force that can destroy if not used properly. Like atomic power, sex is the most powerful creative force given to man. When atomic power is used correctly, it can create boundless energy, when it is used in the wrong way it destroys life. Sex is the same kind of powerful force. Sex is the gift from God to give us the greatest pleasure to help in creating deep companionship with one’s spouse and for procreation of the next generation. But if you play with this powerful force outside the bounds of marriage, it destroys you and those close to you.

– Sexual activity for young people arrests their psychological, social and academic development. Studies show that when young people engage in pre-marital sex, their academic performance declines and their social relationships with family and friends deteriorate. This is because adolescents are too immature to deal with the explosive sex drive and it tends to dominate their lives.

– Majority of women cannot enjoy sex outside the bonds of Marriage. Pre-marital sex usually takes place sneaking around in hidden places, dealing with the fear of being caught, the fear of pregnancy and feelings of guilt. All these worrisome factors undermine pleasure in premarital sex most especially in women.

– Virginity is to be given to the most important person in your life – the person you committed to stay forever in marriage. Your virginity is the most precious thing you have to your spouse. Once you lose it nothing in the world can bring it back.

Spiritual Effects of Pre-marital Sex

– It is a sin – 1Thessalonica 4:3 (for this is the will of God even your sanctification that you should abstain from fornication)

– 1Cor. 6:9 – No fornicator will enter into the kingdom of God.

– Colossians 3:5-6 – Fornicators attract the anger of God against themselves. It is a dangerous thing to fall into the hands of God.

Deuteronomy 22:13-21 – Penalty of fornication is death.

Matthew 5:32 – The sin of fornication is the only ground on which a man should divorce his married wife. Fornication is a very terrible sin as it affects all the body.

– Fornication brings more sin.

Most pre-marital sex ends up in pregnancy, sickness abandonment or sale of babies. The rate of abortion has increased because of increase in pre-marital sex. Involving in pre-marital sex is a sin of its own but committing abortion is murder. Almost all today’s youth must have committed murder before reaching age 25. Some of them abandon their babies in dustbins, gutters and other public places which is an increase to their original sin of fornication. Some secretly sale their babies to ready buyers who use such babies for rituals, or resale them to wealthy couples who could not bear their own children.

– It creates an ungodly soul tie

A soul tie is an agreement one enters with another that creates a special bond between two people. Soul ties are common and exist everywhere – husband and wife, parent and children, teacher and student, pastors and church members, employer and employees. Sex is not just a causal fun as most people think and take it to be. It is much more than that, it involves blood. The Bible says “Life is in the blood” Lev.17:14.

When you have sex with a person you have given a part of your life to that person and in return the person has given you a part of his own life in the spirit realm. In the spirit realm, two of you have become one. You start to share things in common. That is why disease, sickness, demons and many things and many things pass through during sexual intercourse. In addition, you have just created “a soul tie” between you and the person involved. Since God does not permit pre-marital sex, it becomes an “ungodly tie” in the sight of God. That is why some girls find a special liking or memory on the day of dis-virginity, the blood that flows out that day becomes the blood of the covenant or agreement. Genesis 34 Shechem the prince of the land of Hivite committed fornication with Dinah the daughter of Jacob. The soul of Shechem cleaves unto Dinah. First it was lust, and then came love, yet it was ungodly

– It fragmentize your soul

Since sexual intercourse creates soul ties, each person you have sex with you have given part of your heart or soul in the spiritual realm. That is why people who were promiscuous before settling down for marriage find it difficult settling down at all because their soul has been divided; always thinking of their relationships with their previous partners thus making it impossible for them to settle down for marriage. If a person has slept with a thousand persons in his life, his love, heart and several other things has been shared with these thousand persons. A close look at the society shows that wayward people find it difficult to have a fulfilled marriage life because they have shared their life with several people.

Most promiscuous people are involved in extramarital sex. They are never satisfied with one person just for no reason, always looking for their lost soul. It is dangerous engaging in pre-marital sex because it can affect your marriage in future.

– It passes demons to you

This is perhaps the most worrisome part of pre-marital sex. Demons and other problems gain entrance into your body through pre-marital sex.

1 Corinthians 6:16 “know ye not that he which is joined to a harlot is one body? For two saith He shall be one flesh. Have not heard how a serpent that was in another person was transferred to another in the course of sex. It passes demons to your generation. Any sin that becomes a habit is iniquity.

– It is a sin against your own body

Other sins are outside the body except the sin of fornication, 1Corinthians 6:18.

Fornication has the capacity of doing the flowing to you:

* You lose confidence.

* Diseases, sicknesses take over you.

* Your relationship with your family becomes unstable and lying sets in.

Pre-marital Sex Is Lust

Love is from God. It gives unconditionally and it can wait. Lust is from Satan. It is selfish and wants immediate gratification. Any man that loves you will never demand sex from you as a proof of your love for him. Love is patient, is long suffering and endures.

1John 4:7 Beloved let us love one another for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knowth God.

Many young people today have the spirit of Ammon 2nd Samuel 13:12-14. Beware!

Other Dangers of Pre-marital Sex

* Premature parenthood

* It makes you marry the wrong person who may not be supportive, friendly or compatible.

* Rejection, abandonment

* Infertility

* It kills your vision

Everybody that was involved in pre-marital sex in the Bible suffered punishment. Genesis 34: 26-27 and they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem’s house and went out. The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister.

2nd Samuel 12:29 the servants of Absalom slew Ammon on the order of Absalom for raping his sister Tamah.

The only way to avoid the dangers of pre-marital sex is to abstain from it. Sex education has suggested the use of condom but statistics has shown that condom has failed in stopping dangers of illicit sex. Condom cannot stop the passage of demons during sexual intercourse. Our youths have taken pre-marital sex as a normal thing and a way of life. I want to sound this note of warning that it is devils device to destroy you people. Hear what the Bible say in Proverbs 14:12 there is a way that seemeth unto a man is right but the end is death

* Disassociate yourself from immoral/ungodly peer group.

* Try not to be idle.

* Beware of the type of film you watch.

* Make the Bible your closest companion and pray always.

* Take a personal decision to start living a life of purity and God will back you up.

* Mind what you drink – refrain from alcohol.

Ganges River: Concerns, commitments and connections with the wider world

Ganges River: Concerns, commitments and connections with the wider world

By Odimegwu Onwumere

Rivers are symbols of flow of life. That in itself embodies typical resources of spirituality and divinity that establish and sustain virtues of ethical economy of life. With that given statement, the Indian Ganges River comes to mind. A river like Indian Ganges is a life force and source. As such, the need to rejuvenate the Indian Ganges River at Varanasi of India cannot be overemphasized. This is owed to the fact that it is accepted by majority of Indians to be a source of life to them. Indians have said that the river creates revenues for the government through tourism, helps in irrigation from time immemorial, apart from being the central reality of the people’s River of Life.

Over 400 million Indians benefit from the water. Either it serves as a source of drinking water to them or it promotes socio-economic farming community. About 1 millions Hindus in India reverence this river which crisscrosses a length of 1, 568 miles. This river’s implication on life is deep. It brings about not only social and economic interests and hopes for peasants but also enhances dominant ritualistic and religious affinities. Devotees of interest call it Ganga Ma.

Presently, the worry among the international committee and Indians of today is that the river is not only soiled with dirt like plastic and garbage and toxin, but is also telescoping the 70 per cent that the Gangotri glacier supplies during the dry season. That way, the danger of shriveling at somewhat 40 yards annually has become inevitable.

Indian authorities said that the Ganges is on the menu of the world’s most endangered rivers in the world. The World Wildlife Fund knew about this daring concern. At a point the river was rising per second, experts feared that it could hamper the settlement of over 25 villages situated along its bank. This suggests that inability to dredge or evacuate dumps in the river will likely trouble the natural water ways and in turn cause sporadic flooding and misfortune to the population area.

Indians, including the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Shatrughan Singh, have shown fear that the situation with Indian Ganges River is agitated by water released from Narora dam and heavy rainfall from the hills. Roshan Jacob has cautioned the management officials to be watchful and be on their sentinel to budge the people. There was the rivers’ level of 113m. Specialists said that it is merely one meter beneath the peril blotch of 114m.

Ganges River Importance

Indians are afraid that the river Ganges is receding and therefore producing transitory supply of water due to the disappearing glaciers. Many Indians are worried of what will become of Hindus if the water is no more.

Mahesh Mehta, an environmental lawyer apparently has shown a great concern to the river that he has been suing some dubious companies that have used the once sacred Ganges as a place for dumping not only solid wastes, but also toxins, to court. Mehta is afraid of the melting glaciers and has been shouting above his voice that Indians should change their ways of soiling the river else all the facets of their livelihood are under jeopardy.

Bhadra Mishra, an engineer and director of the Varanasi-based Sankat Mochan Foundation, an organization that promotes for the safeguarding of the Ganges reportedly said that Indians are becoming imperiled sort of Hindus due to the ill-fated nature of the Ganges.

As if the people’s fears of the situation of the river are not enough, the United Climate report announced that by 2030, the Himalayan glaciers that nourish unswervingly into the Ganges could disappear due to the increasing temperatures. There is apprehension in India regarding the Ganges drying up the same way the Indus and Saraswati rivers dried up without literal reason. A situation in which the Indians centred their history many hundreds of years ago before Ganges could happen again.

By then, the much heralded climate change was not fad, but the modern Pakistan which used to be a fertile land turned to a sudden desert as the river stopped flowing into the Indian Ocean before it later dried up entirely. It was then that all eyes of the Northern India and its cultures shifted gears to the Ganges and evolved it into the spiritual significance it is today on the world map.

It is being reasoned that if the Ganges eventually dries up, Indians will be more frightened that they may be heading for the worse, something worse than the desert they experienced when the Indus and Saraswati dried up thousands of years ago. The population’s worry is that it is yet unknown what caused the Indus and Saraswati to dry up. But now the Ganges River is being aided to empty out by untamed ubiquitous human attitude which is causing harm to the ecosystem. By making the once revered Ganges a cesspit, messed up of faecal waste, semi-cremated bodies, and other anomalies, the likelihood to de-river the flow is imminent.

Army was also seeking to join Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiative to clean river Ganga, through setting up task force under a retired Lieutenant General to carry out the project efficiently. The Army even went as far as submitting a pitch to the Government to set up a task force under a retired Lt. General with a team of 40 officers to handle the situation.

According to The Economic Times, “The Territorial Army battalions of the Army are already engaged in the task of preserving ecology and environment and have been taking part in projects to spread greenery in barren areas such as the Bhati Mines area in Delhi.”

Hope Coming

Hope is hope and when it is assured, life is renewed. As such, hope for change came the way of Indians as four ministers held the first meeting in June this year, 2014. Put up with is the resolution that cleaning the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Ganga project and the Road map on Ganga cleanup mission would be presented in front of House session in July. Attention got focused on practical approaches than speculations.

Water resources, river development and Ganga rejuvenation minister, Uma Bharati, said in the meeting chaired by Shipping Minister Nitin Gadkari that, “Season, site and rainfall specific plans for different rivers will be readied. A group of secretaries will work out a detailed plan for each river…We will be incorporating ideas as and when required. It is not that we are not prioritizing other rivers but we will have to create a model first which can be replicated elsewhere.”

Gadkari said, “To undertake dredging activities of up to 45 meters from Varanasi to Hoogly, the ministry of environment and forests will evaluate the ecological impact of the proposal and will give us the report….We have started technical evaluation of barrages that we intend to set up at a distance of every 100 km and use it for connectivity. It will also be utilized for goods and passenger transportation.”

Union Minister of States (Independent Charge) for Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan looking freshened-up illustrated praise on Dainik Jagran in a different forum. This is sequel to the effort the dude has taken to clean River Ganga. The efforts of Jagran was taken as dignifying which would keep the river pollution-free after the exercise for undertaking a gracious attempt to clean River Ganges in order to render it pollution-free.

As the most priority of Indian government which has lingered for years, Germany showed interest to offer her expertise for the Ganges clean-up project. This interest was coming 27yrs after India started attracting the world’s attention to clean-up the messed up river.

Not even the cash from the World Bank in 2012 has enhanced the quick execution of the programme on the river regarded as one of the world’s 20 largest rivers. The Indian Government requested $3 billion (2.4 billion euros) from Israel to restore the Ganges status.

“Israel NewTech, an initiative led by the Israeli Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labour, is matching Israeli clean-tech companies with Indian partners to tender solutions for the Ganges,” said Deutsche Welle. “The Indian government aims to have no untreated municipal sewage or industrial runoff to enter the Ganges by 2020. Yet, according to Oded Distel, head of Israel NewTech, cleaning the Ganges is more like a 20-year mission.”

“It’s a huge project. It combines technological aspects and elements from waste water treatment and water management up to irrigation,” Distel said. During dry season, “it becomes more a kind of canal for waste water rather than a real living river.”

“The irrigation business in India these days is above $0.5 billion a year, which in the next two or three years, will reach $1.5 billion – just micro irrigation,” NaanDanJain director Amnon Ofen, said. According to Deutsche Welle, he added that this would be the reason why foreign companies are based in India.

Heiko Warnken, head of Economic Cooperation and Development, Germany, supposedly said on the tangential of a colloquium: “Rejuvenation and cleaning of the river Ganga is one of the top priorities of Indian government. We are now just in the phase where we are going to see how we are going to assist the Indian government in this important endeavour…We will soon have a mission who will be coming to India with experts from Germany. We have also cleaned the river Rhine in Germany. We will see how we can assist in the Ganga mission.”

The New Look

The government of India had on June 6, 2014 announced that the concept to develop Ganga is not only for it not to dry, also it is to sustain it as an economic attraction of the state in the areas of transportation, fisheries tourism and hydro-power generation. An estimate of Rs 6,000 crore would be expended in its first stage which the government had promised that it would put every mercenary in place in making sure that the feat was achieved.

The government looked at the ‘new’ Ganga with the plan that it would be a major waterway for transport and tourism, which would interconnect with the Varanasi and Hooghly through river going boats. It also looks at redecorating the major banks with allure and constructing 11 multi-purpose terminals, which would comprise one at Patna. Not limiting its strength here, the government might lengthen its effort to Allahabad. If this is achieved, specialists have said that the government must have to achieve 1,600km broad of the river.

Working Together

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said: “Rather than dollars, we are more interested in knowledge and expertise of World Bank. Dr Kim agreed, in addition said World Bank can be our information bank. We want ideas from the World Bank not only on mass production but also on production by masses, which will benefit our workforce,” Modi tweeted.

At the meeting, “We talked about the importance of scale and the need to work on a scale that inspires people and positively transforms their lives. We live in a world where speed matters. Quick execution is essential. Speeding up World Bank projects will surely increase the impact.”

The river Ganga is revered in the Hindu culture. People from Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras, Roorkee are working with expectation to see a ‘new’ Ganges emerge. It was observable that, “Rs 1,825 crore was spent in cleaning the Ganga between 1985 and 2009 in phases of the Ganga Action Plan, or GAP as it is popularly called. Suresh Prabhu, who as union environment minister in 1998-99 had implemented phase-II of GAP, recalls: “The plan was appropriately named. There were so many gaps in the scheme and what is needed now is essentially a comprehensive approach.”

David Graham of UK’s Newcastle University, had done all-embracing studies on river Ganga and, graphs out the precedence for Modi Sarkar: “Solutions include routing wastes elsewhere, improving waste treatment prior to release, and motivating ‘social engineering’ to change behaviours and attitudes related to water quality in the river… Delaying waste inputs, by providing portable toilets at habited locations, are an easy and immediate solution, but this does not completely solve the problem.”

“Already, the government has been contemplating a massive drive to discourage people from open defecation along the river. But Graham is not fully convinced of its long-term utility,” the source added.

The hope to regain the value of dredged and free flowing Ganges River is back and the potential to continue to sustain and advance the river of life is increased. What one can obviously learn from the team of worry, action and connection with the wider world is that development can happen when it is considered and approached.

Ahead of the 2015 general elections, Ogoni youth leader and Nigeria’s peace ambassador, Chief Solomon Ndigbara has hinted that the outcome of the 2015 Rivers State governorship election will be determined by the character and credibility of candidates and not ethnic sentiments as widely reported in the media.

Wike A Shameless Liar —Rivers APC

Posted on August 8, 2014. Filed under: Press Release | Tags: |

  • Says no Commissioner is defecting to PDP

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Rivers State Chapter, has dismissed as a big lie, the claim by Minister of State for Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, that six serving Commissioners in the state have concluded plans to dump the party for the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“This is nothing but idle talk and it exposes Wike as a shameless liar because no Commissioner in the Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi administration is contemplating defecting to the virtually non-existent PDP, not to talk of six of them leaving in one fell swoop for a party that is on its way to the graveyard in Rivers State,” Rivers APC said in a statement issued Thursday in Port Harcourt by its Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya.

Ikanya noted that “if Wike is a serious mind, he would have mentioned the names of the six imaginary Commissioners that allegedly gave him advance notice of their purported intention to dump APC for the embattled PDP.” The APC State Chairman dismissed Wike’s expectation in this regard as “a malaria dream and mere wishful thinking as none of our Commissioners in the present State EXCO is either contemplating or planning such a suicidal step of joining PDP that will soon disintegrate.”

He said that, “to the contrary, several of the characters parading themselves as governorship aspirants under the dying PDP platform have entered into serious negotiations with our party leadership with a view to joining APC as the undisputable PDP Leader in Rivers State, Her Excellency, Dame Patience Jonathan, has refused to anoint any of them. In this regard, it is unfortunate that Chief Wike seems not to be in the picture that he will in the next few weeks be expelled from PDP for anti-party activities to pave the way for the First Lady’s anointed candidate.”

Ikanya insisted that APC is now the last bus stop for any serious politician in Rivers State, adding that the party is gearing up to announce the demise of PDP in the state after Mama Peace (Dame Jonathan) executes her plan to impose an unpopular governorship candidate on the party.

The Rivers State APC Chairman similarly dismissed as a joke the claim by South-South PDP Zonal Secretary, Mr. Joe Onyewelu, that the party would recapture Rivers and Edo states during the 2015 general elections.

“This,” according to Ikanya, “is nothing but wishful thinking on the part of PDP states as the great feats of Governors Amaechi in Rivers State and Adams Oshiomhole in Edo have given the people a good idea of what good governance looks like, thereby sealing the fate of the discredited PDP, not only in the two states, which they under-developed, but, indeed, throughout the Niger Delta and elsewhere across the country.”

Defeat of Al-Makura’s Impeachment: A Victory over Fascism – Rivers APC

Posted on August 7, 2014. Filed under: Press Release | Tags: |

  • Demands apology from President Jonathan

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has expressed happiness by the way and manner the Emirs, Chiefs and people of Nasarawa State defeated fascism and impunity, stoutly defending the mandate they freely gave to their Governor, Alhaji Tanko Al-Makura, when the misguided and demented PDP Leadership in connivance with a confused Presidency attempted to impeach the People’s Governor and steal their mandate from the backyard, saying kudos must be given to the masses for rallying round their Governor, thus frustrating the evil plot of the PDP Leadership to execute a coup against their popularly elected Governor after the party was roundly rejected during the 2011 gubernatorial elections.

“We salute the Chief Judge of Nasarawa State and members of the Investigating Panel headed by Yusuf Shehu Usman for proving that we still have principled men in our nation who are not ready to succumb to the evil plot and pressure of a group whose unprincipled acts are legendary. They have by so doing succeeded in exposing PDP as an evil party that does not mean well for the people of Nasarawa State by investigating and finding the Governor innocent of all the false allegations against him. By so doing, the Chief Judge and members of the Investigating Panel have forestalled the unjust removal of a Governor who has proved that he is out to serve and develop Nasarawa State. They have, by this act, written their names in gold in the history of the political evolution of our nation”, Rivers APC stated in a press statement signed by Chief Eze chukwuemeka Eze.

Continuing, the statement said, “it is very unfortunate that President Goodluck Jonathan hosted these lawmakers and failed to call them to order in their evil mission to ridicule our democracy and cause havoc to our political development. We hope that Mr. President will find time to apologise to the people of Nasarawa State for this unpresidential conduct that has caused Nigerians monumental psychological trauma.”

APC urged the people of Nasarawa State to start without any delay the immediate recall of all lawbreakers who call themselves PDP lawmakers and who orchestrated this failed attempt of stealing the mandate freely given to Governor Al-Makura by the people of Nasarawa State.

“We also urge them to join other Nigerians to ensure that PDP is adequately punished by denying the party any elective post come 2015.

“The manner in which PDP Leadership went about the impunity that was called the impeachment of Adamawa State Governor, Admiral Murtala Nyako, for standing up and protecting the interests of his people and the militarisation of Ekiti State election simply demonstrates that PDP is desperate to trample on the rights and mandate of the people. This, no doubt, is a rehearsal of what they have in stock for Nigerians in 2015, seeing that the party has been rejected by Nigerians as a result of the hardship it party has brought upon Nigerians particularly by means of the unfortunate administration of President Jonathan.

“We pray and hope that with the experience of Nasarawa State, the beginning of the demise of PDP has just begun. This becomes imperative to avoid the orchestrated plots by PDP to impose their visionless programs of causing further hardship on Nigerians come 2015’, the statement concluded.
