River State APC Mega Rally As Gov. Amaechi Is Admired By His PeopPLE

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has described today’s confirmation of the immediate past Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, as a Minister by the Senate as a victory over the forces of darkness.

“These dark forces as represented by Caretaker Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, went to absurd lengths in their plot to stop Amaechi from becoming a Minister but Almighty God has used President Muhammadu Buhari and the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to scatter their evil plans,” Rivers APC said in the statement signed by the Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya and issued Thursday in the State capital, Port Harcourt.
According to the party, “Today, 29th October, 2015, will remain a great milestone in the annals of Rivers State when against all odds, centering around the mischievous propaganda by enemies of the State led by the impostor Governor Nyesom Wike, the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria confirmed one of the best sons of Rivers State, Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, as a Minister despite the sinister petitions against him by misguided enemies of Rivers State.

Today, we have come to understand that truly God is with Amaechi and none of the plots by his enemies can have any impact in his life if the meanings of his names are anything to go by – Chibuike, which means ‘God is all Powerful’ and Rotimi, an abridged version of Oluwadurotimi, meaning ‘the Lord stands by me’, while Amaechi means ‘who knows tomorrow?’ plays a lot in most of the actions of this patriotic, an enigma, the Lion of Niger Delta Politics, the Pillar and embodiment of the change mantra in the politics of Nigeria and a true son of God
“The Eighth Senate has by this action proved that they are not only patriotic and nationalist but also that they cannot allow petty politics to becloud their sense of reasoning as they seek to accomplish the onerous task of building a virile, vibrant, united and strong Nigeria.”
Rivers APC warmly commended President Buhari for nominating Amaechi and the Eighth Senate for confirming him, “thereby disappointing the very enemies of Rivers who by their devilish acts painted Rivers State and her people as ingrates who have no regard and respect for her leaders.” The party pleaded with Nigerians not to judge Rivers people by the vindictive actions of Wike and his cohorts as Rivers State and her people are good-natured and great people.
Rivers APC thanked God that “Wike, who has done everything humanly possible to bring down Amaechi, who made him politically, has been put to shame along with his collaborators, especially Senator Thompson Sekibo. “They should not only bury their faces in shame but should also apologise to Nigerians for their failed coup against their benefactor,” the party said. It declared that Wike and his co-travelers have formally buried their political careers as they have proved that they are the greatest enemies of Rivers State and Nigeria as a whole.”

It said that “to show practical appreciation to God, the party has set in motion machinery for thanksgiving services to our great God for shaming the enemies of Rivers State and upholding his son at this critical time. In this regard, Muslims should use this Friday, 30th October, to worship in their mosques while Christians should embark upon thanksgiving this Sunday, 1st November, 2015. We must pray out the evil cabal currently ruining our State in the name of governance.”

Similarly, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Rivers State in the April election has commended the Nigerian Senate for approving the confirmation of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as minister.

Peterside who spoke in Abuja praised the senators for their patriotic and states-manly conduct despite the contrived controversies and unproven allegations that trailed the nomination of persons like Rt. Hon Amaechi.

He said the Red Chamber has proved that they are indeed distinguished men and women of honour as anything less would have amounted to a disservice to our great country.

“I wish to personally thank the Senate for its courage and nationalistic zeal. The fact it avoided playing unnecessary politics with issues around ministerial nomination, screening and confirmation is re-assuring.

“I know that for a long time, Nigerians will remember this senate for standing with the people of this country especially on this ministerial list that had generated needless arguments. Our democracy may still be described as nascent and emerging but our people definitely know their leaders.

“Rt. Hon Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, our leader, is a man of unassailable character and integrity. So it was not surprising that many people, both from within and outside the country followed his nomination and eventual appearance with a lot of interest.

“I am very happy that the senate did not disappoint his teeming supporters and well wishers. But I also wish to thank the Upper House for refusing to be dragged into the politicisation of the fight against corruption orchestrated by PDP Rivers State. As a member of the last assembly, I must say that I am proud of you all.

“Finally, I wish to counsel the government of Rivers State to stop its wild goose chase. Our people suffer when resources that should have been used for development and welfare of the people are deployed to maligning and disparaging people.    We are currently facing daunting security challenges in the state for which the occupants of Government House Port Harcourt have no idea of how to tackle. They have chosen to spend our resources on imaginary battles against perceived opponents.

Guber Tribunal Judgement: We’ve been vindicated – Rivers APC

image001Guber Tribunal Judgement: We’ve been vindicated – Rivers APC

….Urges security agents not to allow Wike escape

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) says it has welcomed the judgement of the State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which on Saturday, October 24, 2015 afternoon in Abuja annulled the declaration of Chief Nyesom Wike of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the April 11, 2015 governorship poll in the State.

“We have been vindicated in our persistent claim that the election in Rivers State was a sham and that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) erred in declaring Wike governor. We repeat that there is no way under the heavens that Chief Wike can beat our candidate, Dr. Dakuku Peterside, in a free and fair election,” Rivers APC said in a statement issued in Port Harcourt and signed by its Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya immediately after the Tribunal judgement.

The statement reads: “Though, we were expecting total ban of Chief Nyesom Wike from further participation in the politics of Nigeria seeing the orchestration of the number of death of Rivers State people in order for him to be installed as a Care-Taker Governor all thesame we thank the Justice Mohammed Ambrusa-led Tribunal for restoring hope to the downtrodden people of Rivers State who have borne the brunt of Wike’s illegal and visionless administration in the past five months. “We thank the Tribunal for allowing itself to be used by God to uproot the impostor governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, who has these past five months brought monumental suffering to our people in cahoots with some mischievous and misguided politicians whose only understanding of governance is blackmailing and the looting of our common patrimony,” Rivers APC said. It lamented that “Wike’s tragic entry into the Brick House seat of power has only succeeded to bring back criminality in various forms in the once peaceful Rivers State as kidnapping, robbery and organised crimes have being on the increase since his evil arrival.”

“For the first time in the history of our dear State, a government without any vision or blueprint assumed office, thereby collapsing all the systems of governance. On 22nd October, 2015, 19 students on the scholarship of the Rivers State Government through its agency, the Rivers State Sustainable Development Agency (RSSDA) were forced to abandon their studies and return to Nigeria because the State Government had not paid their fees and upkeep in the United Kingdom. Those in Canada and other locations are also expected to return soon for same reasons.

“Earlier this week, the RSUST Chapter of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) went on a protest march and warning strike due to the mindless hiking of fees of the university’s primary and secondary demonstration schools by the clueless Wike administration. Local Government Councils in the State have been unable to pay their staff salaries for August and September while some, such as Opobo/Nkoro, owe their personnel salaries from July 2015 to date.

“In the area of sports, our twin pride Sharks and Dolphins may be relegated from the Nigerian Premier League for the first time in so many years. While Wike was busy looting and wasting Rivers State resources in pursuit of his failed project to destroy his benefactor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, he abandoned governance and now that he has been sent packing, he should summon courage and face the wrath of the law by accounting for the death of our people killed to install him as Care-Taker Governor.

“Rivers APC appealed to the relevant security agencies “to keep close watch on Chief Wike as we are reliably informed that he is planning to run away from facing the wrath of the law for his corrupt practices and for supervising the death of over 100 APC members just because of election. Anything short of this will keep the souls of our people restless.”

Amaechi an asset to buhari, a strong voice for Rivers as a minister – APC

image001….Faults Wike’s opposition to Ex-Governor’s nomination

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described immediate past Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, as the best possible choice for ministerial appointment from the State, saying that President Muhammadu Buhari was on point for nominating him for consideration by the Senate.

“Going by his antecedents, Rt. Hon. Amaechi will be an asset to the Buhari Administration and also a strong voice for Rivers State as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Rives APC said in a statement signed by the Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, and issued Friday in the state capital, Port Harcourt.

The party said it was eagerly looking forward to the confirmation of Amaechi’s ministerial nomination by the Senate on Tuesday.

“Judging Amaechi by the much he achieved as governor of Rivers State – from education to proper management of the State’s resources, road construction, agriculture, security, tourism, transport, commerce, human development, etc – one can safely conclude that when he becomes a minister, Amaechi will do everything humanly possible to protect the interests of Rivers State and improve the lot her people,” the party said.
Rivers APC, however, noted that as a minister, Amaechi would have all the 36 states of the country and Abuja as his constituency. It assured that “while he will not allow what is due to Rivers State and her people to elude them in any form, Amaechi as a first class patriot will fully collaborate with other members of the Federal Executive Council to make a big difference in the Buhari Administration and thus take Nigeria out of the woods in which it has found itself as a result of 16 years of visionless administration by the Peoples Democratic Party.”

The party berated the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, for opposing Amaechi’s ministerial nomination and working hard to scuttle its actualisation. “We are confident that wise counsel will prevail and the patriotic men and women that constitute the Nigerian Senate will ignore Wike and his machinations and confirm Amaechi on Tuesday since Wike’s opposition is based solely on selfish reasons and his desire to prove that he can pull down the man who brought him out of obscurity and gave him the platform to become whatever he is politically today,” the statement said.

There is no Order against the screening of Hon. Amaechi, Says Rivers APC

There is no Order against the screening of Hon. Amaechi, Says Rivers APC

 By Nwaorgu Faustinus

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress [APC], says its attention has been drawn to a statement being circulated in the media that Mr. Livingstone Wechie has obtained a court order restraining the Senate from Screening Rt. Rotimi AMAECHI as a ministerial nominee.

The APC said following the announcement, it made frantic search at the Federal High Court across the Country and did not find any such proceedings pending or ORDER before any Court in the Country, the Federal High Court being the only Court that has jurisdiction to determine any matter in which the Senate is made a party and its duties and functions are the subject matter, in view of Section 251 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended).

Continuing the party said, “again, because we are aware of the desperation of the PDP and Mr. Livingstone Wechie on this matter, we have nonetheless carried out a search at the High Court Registry in Rivers State, and no indication that such Order exists at the High Court of Rivers State, except if such order is given to Mr. Livingstone WECHIE in the sitting room of a Judge, which we know that no right thinking judicial officer will do so, especially at this time that the National Judicial Council is desirous of sanitizing the Judiciary.”

“Clearly, the State High Court has no powers or jurisdiction under the Constitution to determine a matter in which the subject matter relates to the duties or functions of the Senate. The distinguished and Honourable Judges of the Rivers State High Court are fully aware of this Constitutional provision. We strongly believe that none of them would be drawn into such level of judicial rascality or abuse of office, no matter the inducement or incentive” the APC said in a statement signed and made available to NF-Reports by its Publicity Secretary, Chris Finebone.

The APC urged all good people of Rivers State to remain calm and await the Senate Report and action as has been announced by the Most Distinguished Senate President.

“We hereby give notice to the Directorate of State Security Services and the Nigerian Police to investigate this level of misinformation that is capable of breaching the peace. We urge them to be vigilant and watch for any attempt to forge and criminally alter documentation at the Rivers State High Court Registry”, the statement concluded.

PDP, Wike resorts to fake news to blackmail Senate against Amaechi’s screening – APC

PDP, Wike resorts to fake news to blackmail Senate against Amaechi’s screening – APC

The Rivers State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress, [APC], says it has come to its notice, that Governor Nyesom Wike and the PDP in their failed bid to ensure that the Senate does not screen Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, have now resorted to publishing counterfeit news items through their sponsored Internet news outlets.

The APC in a statement signed by its spokesman, Chris Finebone said some of the PDP internet outlets are Nigeriana.org with a fake story captioned “APC Ministerial Crisis: ‘Screen And Confirm Me or Refund My Money’ – Angry Amaechi To APC Leaders.”, and another of such fake story is by the notorious PDP Scannewsnigeria.com with a caption, “Ministerial Screening of Buhari’s Sponsor: EFCC arrests Minority Leader as FG intimidates PDP Senators.”

According to press statement, “in both online publications, agents of Governor Wike and the PDP tried to justify the huge funds the Rivers State Governor is providing to them by concocting wild, pedestrian stories in form of news which are put out to unsuspecting and gullible online readers”.

The APC noted that “these online outlets have in the past concocted several fake news stories purporting such stories to be based on interviews with the former governor that actually never held; they also claim to have talked with close associates of the former governor who they fail to name just because confidentiality of sources is a right accorded to journalists under the law. Again, they continue to indulge in their malfeasance because most online readers often fail to see through such false stories and the sinister motives of those behind them.”

It emphasised that Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi did not speak with any journalist as stated in the Nigeriana.com story under reference.

“He also did not, at anytime, hold any discussions with associates, friends or any person/persons over the matter of his Senate screening at any time and certainly did not and still does not have reasons to discuss such issues with anyone along the lines expressed by the shameless online publication. Former Governor Amaechi is at peace with himself and God. Therefore, the said publications are manifestly false in their entirety. Indeed, they are emanations from the infantile imagination of those behind them and aimed at inciting the Distinguished Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and blackmail them against the upcoming screening of the former governor as one of the ministerial nominees by President Mohammadu Buhari.”

The APC urged the Distinguished Senators and all other Nigerians to discountenance the aforementioned fake stories and many more the PDP are likely to put out in the public domain in the next few days especially as Governor Wike and his co-travellers have woefully failed in their bid to stall the ascension of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria even if the former governor virtually forced former President Goodluck Jonathan to make Nyesom Wike a Minister as confessed to by the former President Jonathan himself.

“The free news APC has for these men is that Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi will become a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as the matter is beyond mortal men like them”, the statement averred.

Urhobo leaders eulogize Delta Speaker, call for unity

Urhobo leaders eulogize Delta Speaker, call for unity

Urhobo leaders today took a hard look at the recent judgments of the State and National Assembly Election Tribunal sitting in Asaba, describing the dismissal of the petition filed by All Progressives Congress (APC), Sapele Constituency as a good omen. “It is a sign of good things to come to Urhobo land” they said.

The remark of the leaders came amid similar sentiments expressed by the Delta State Elders Forum.

The APC candidate failed to rebut the presumption of regularity raised in favour of INEC’s official Declaration of Results which was in favour of PDP. He also failed to adduce satisfactory, cogent and credible evidence to prove all the grounds of his petition.

The leaders in a statement in Ughelli expressed satisfaction with the judgement.

They also congratulated Rt. Hon Ovwigho Igbuya on his victory at the tribunal and urged him to continue being the good ambassador of the Urhobo nation.

The statement signed by the spokesperson of Urhobo Unity Forum (UUF), Dr. Mudiaga Oghene praised Mister Speaker for offering high quality service to the state, raising the office of the speaker to greater heights and reaching out to the sick and vulnerable.

The statement also described Mister Speaker as a rare gem and an honest lawmaker.

“He is a complete gentleman in the real sense and every Deltan should emulate his steps”

Omeriji Panel Report White Paper: End of Wike’s chicanery – Rivers APC

Omeriji Panel Report White Paper:  End of Wike’s chicanery – Rivers APC

The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives 007ACongress, APC, says its attention has been drawn to a reported release today of a white paper on the so-called Justice Omeriji Panel of Inquiry Report that was submitted to Governor Nyesom Wike last Wednesday.

The APC in a statement signed by its State Publicity Secretary, Chris Finebone described the purported white paper as part of the scenes taken from a “typical mediaeval era book of self-entertainment” adding that it qualifies for nothing and is not worth more than the decrepit paperweight and putrefying character of its mastermind and authors.

The statement noted however that “it is a huge relief to our leader, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi that Nyesom Wike finally accepts that an accused is taken to court of law and not court of public opinion through the manipulation of the media.”

The statement reads: “Governor Nyesom Wike is at liberty to amuse himself but wanton display by a governor of crass ignorance of the basic workings of government with regard to how government disposes its property and the process of channelling the payments into government coffers calls for sober reflection by every Rivers man, woman and youth. And the question begging for answer is: how did we get here?

“The APC would like to state that those who crafted this whole melodrama know very well that their contraption is nothing more than a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the APC is glad that Governor Wike has finally hearkened to the pleas by former Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi to go to court to prove his accusations rather than embark on expensive strings of media trial through newspapers and worthless television documentaries.

“We have no doubt that very concrete records of every bit of matter relating to the Monorail, sale of power stations, reserve fund, agricultural grant, lease of Olympia Hotel and any others have all been articulated and already in the public domain. Of course, these will be availed the court to permanently put paid to the ongoing chicanery by Governor Nyesom Wike and his friends.”

Plot by Wike, PDP to blackmail APC uncovered

Plot by Wike, PDP to blackmail APC uncovered

image001The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, says it has uncovered a plot by Governor Nyesom Wike and the PDP in Rivers State to use both the traditional and new media to blackmail the APC as using Federal might to intimidate PDP witnesses at the Rivers State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting at Abuja.

The APC in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Chris Finebone and made available to NF-Reports regarded such insidious blackmail as a facade to hide the fact that Nyesom Wike has clearly run out of credible witnesses to present at the Tribunal. As things stand at the moment, everything points to the fact that the Governor has been struggling to get witnesses to attest at the Tribunal under oath that elections held in Rivers State in substantial compliance with relevant laws of the land even when everything rather points to the opposite being the case.

The statement reads: “How can the governor accuse the APC of intimidation when he has successfully subpoenaed top police officers as witnesses at the Tribunal? Speculations in the media that the two police officers Governor Nyesom Wike called at the Tribunal were arrested after their appearance as witnesses have been effectively debunked by the office of the Inspector-General of Police. The IGP refuted such speculations and unequivocally stated that no such arrests were made though there were untoward issues pointing at lack of due process in the subpoena of the two officers.

“In the case of the DSS officer that was called as witness by Nyesom Wike yesterday, whatever shortcomings the DSS may have observed about the purported officer’s subpoena and any action it decided to take in that respect remains the exclusive responsibility of the DSS and could not have been externally influenced in any way and not the least by the APC.

“Signs that Governor Wike who is the 2nd Respondent in the petition of the APC Governorship Candidate, Dr. Adol Peterside was having serious challenges getting credible witnesses to testify at the Tribunal became obvious when the Governor woefully failed in presenting any INEC top staffer to defend what the Commission claimed happened on April 11 and 12, 2015. Instead, Wike presented NYSC ad-hoc personnel to justify that elections held.

“In the past few days, the APC has observed that Nyesom Wike had to resort to blackmailing civil servants with dismissal except they appeared before the Tribunal as his witnesses to lie that elections took place in Rivers State in April, 2015. As an additional incentive, the Governor doles out huge sums of money as inducement for appearing as witness for the embattled governor at the Tribunal. This has resulted in several serving and retired civil servants and some supposed clergymen without character appearing as witnesses to lie that elections took place in the state.

“On the other hand, the APC Candidate, Dr. Dakuku Peterside [Petitioner] presented top INEC personnel who stated before the tribunal that elections did not hold in Rivers State in substantial compliance with laid down requirements. For example, a witness of the APC Candidate [PW-49], an Assistant Director in the ICT Department of INEC in Abuja, Mrs. Abimbola Oladunjoye, told the Tribunal that only 293,072 voters were accredited for the governorship election in Rivers State on April 11, 2015. This is against a fabricated accredited figure of 1,228, 614 voters in which Nyesom Wike was awarded a total of 1,029,102 votes from God-knows-where by the same INEC. This entire thing runs foul of INEC specific letter dated 2nd April, 2015 which ruled out use of any other means of accreditation other than the Card Reader for the aforesaid election.

“The APC would like to advise Governor Nyesom Wike to concentrate on his efforts to procure conscienceless persons with dubious backgrounds to appear as witnesses for him rather than blame his ill fortune on the APC. We continue to believe that the truth shall ultimately prevail over this matter and the good people of Rivers State shall rejoice, God willing for when the righteous rule the people rejoice.”

Leave Amaechi alone or we’ll expose you, Rivers APC Tells Secondus

Gov Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi

Gov Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has warned the Acting National Chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, to leave former Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, alone or the party would be forced to expose him.

Rivers APC made the warning in a statement signed by the State Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, and issued on Sunday in Port Harcourt.

The party was reacting to the unprovoked attack which Secondus launched on Amaechi on Wednesday while receiving the report of the Senator Ike Ekweremadu-led committee on how to reform and reposition the former ruling party for the 2019 general elections.

Rivers APC said: “We appreciate the agony of Prince Uche Secondus, one of the key architects of PDP’s loss of power after 16 years of misrule. We also understand his frustration in his very difficult assignment of reinventing PDP, a party the death of which he and some other tin gods caused by frustrating Amaechi and other progressives who were the souls of PDP out of the party. It is a pity that PDP has yet to recover from the shock of the departure of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi from the party. Even though we do not intend to go into details of what Prince Uche Secondus and other inner caucus members did to force Amaechi out of the party, we will like to caution him to stop further disparaging of Amaechi as any further attack on Amaechi will force us to alert the world on who Prince Secondus truly is. We wish to warn him that enough is enough.”

Rivers APC wondered why Secondus, rather than concentrating on the recommendations of the Ekweremadu committee and addressing the issues raised in the committee’s report on how to get back PDP on track, chose to play to the gallery by asking President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate Amaechi, who has no skeleton in his cupboard unlike him (Secondus) whose cupboard is full of skeletons.

The party advised PDP to come to terms with the fact that Amaechi has left the party for good and has joined other great patriotic Nigerians in a better political party that is poised to take Nigeria out of the woods into which the 16 years of the visionless leadership of PDP has plunged the country.
