PDP is dead in South-West, says Olorogun-Etti

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Babatunde Olorogun-Etti weekend hit at the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), declaring the opposition party dead in South-West.

“Who are the people in South-West PDP? Who is in PDP, Lagos State chapter? The party is dead in Lagos State” he said.

The former vice chairman, Lagos Central PDP told a gathering of APC faithful in Lagos Island that the opposition party was murdered by its own leaders in 2015.

“Lagos PDP time has come and gone” the leader of Eko United, a major political group in Lagos State said.

Olorogun-Etti praised Mr Moshood Salvador for defecting to APC.

“I’m happy to be part of the winning team. Salvador is just seeing what I saw in 2015. The Lagos PDP died in 2015. PDP is not in government. It cannot empower anybody. PDP will not win a ward in Lagos State. The party has no plan for the people “he said.

Olorogun-Etti praised former Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu for his commitment to safeguarding democracy and working for the good of the people.

The former member, Board of Directors of the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD) commended Babatunde Fashola for transforming the state.

He also praised Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for focusing on the fundamentals, creating jobs and ensuring prosperity to the good people of Lagos.

“The APC government is practical and responsible. It is a government that is working and the people are seeing the dividends of democracy in Lagos State ” he added.

The implication of Nigeria’s Extreme Poverty status on The Sustainable Development Goals

The implication of Nigeria’s Extreme Poverty status on The Sustainable Development Goals

By Ekene Odigwe

The British Prime Minister, Theresa May’s poverty remark about Nigeria sparked a conversation of conflicting views across the country, but the fact remains that this is not the first time this has happened, Mr. Bill Gates in March this year at the special and expanded National Economic Council, held in Abuja stated that the execution priorities of the Presidency’s economic plan do not fully reflect people’s needs as it prioritised physical capital over human capital. Although, few days later the minister of Budget and National Planning Udoma Udoma in a statement said the media misunderstood the context of Mr. Gates’ stance on Buhari’s economic blueprint but here we are leading the world on poverty rate. Poverty according to United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is multidimensional therefore it is not simply a lack of adequate income. Earning US$1.90 PPP (purchasing power parity) per day is unlikely to mean the end of the many overlapping deprivations faced by poor people which includes malnutrition, poor sanitation and a lack of electricity or inadequate education. According to the Global Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI) 1.6 billion people in 108 countries, that is homes to 78 percent of the world’s population are identified as multidimensionally poor. UNDP argues that using MPI, the data reflects the combined simultaneous disadvantages poor people experience across different areas of their lives. Over 700 million people worldwide still live below the US$ 1.90 PPP per day extreme poverty line, and over half the global population live at the bottom of the economic pyramid on less than US$8 per day.

The Nigeria scene is not so far apart as the National Bureau of Statistics had even painted a worse picture in 2016 when it reported that no fewer than 112 million Nigerians live below the poverty line, preceding year the World Poverty Clock (WPC) suggested that Nigeria’s struggle with overpopulation will be a problem in 2017 rather than in 2050 as many people had thought and that by February 2018 Nigeria will overtake India as the country with the most people in extreme poverty but corporations, legislators and the electorates never believed nor took it seriously. Well not entirely, because the government at about same time intensified efforts on agricultural diversification programmes and interventions, some state governments even started their own agricultural programmes, as research shows that the National assembly passed the 2017 Appropriation Bill of N7.441 trillion, with the agriculture sector receiving an allocation of N103.7 billion, an increment of N12 billion compared to the N92 billion naira earlier proposed for the sector in 2016. The increase they argued is in response to the continuing clamour for more funding to support food security and economic diversification. It is also in realization of the cardinal position Agriculture and agribusiness occupies in the quest to defeat unemployment and its related vices.

However, with lots of intervention programmes and diversification strategies of the government Nigeria still overtook India to emerge as a country with the highest number of poor people in 2018. Prior to this, the 2015 United Nations Sustainable Development Goal has end poverty in all its forms everywhere as goal 1. This goal explicitly recognizes that poverty results not from the lack of just one thing but from many different interrelated factors that affect the lives of people. It is proven that living in poverty carefully sets motion for humiliation, exclusion and low participation in most social and civic duties from education to health and living standards. This representation also confirms the UNDP ideology that poverty is multidimensional, now it even gets scarier because in order to eradicate extreme poverty for all people everywhere by 2030 there is need to achieve global peace, holistic collaboration and intervention. Putting into practice the system that 90 people has to leave poverty line every minute in other to eradicate poverty totally by 2030. As promising as this sound, there is nevertheless a shortage of about 9.5 million people globally per year. Presently, The World Poverty Clock predicts that for the 2030 SDG target to be met in Africa, 57 people have to leave extreme poverty line every minute but that is not the case rather than leaving, people enter extreme poverty every minute. Nigeria needs 11.9 people per minute to escape extreme poverty, but at the moment has a deficit of 6.8 people every minute, i.e. 6.8 people enter into poverty line every minute instead of leaving.

Question is why anyone would believe what the World Poverty Clock Says, the reality remains that WPC is a tool that monitors progress against poverty globally and regionally, it provides real-time poverty data across countries. So if it was that reliable why didn’t the government and the people of Nigeria utilize the knowledge as the report shows how close they were to dooms day? Some SDGs implementers believe that accumulated debts over the years, gross embezzlement of public funds, neglect of duties, inadequate implementation of set objectives and personal interest over that of the state is responsible for landing Nigeria as the leading nation of poor people. Barrister Somto Ugwu, the gender and partnership officer at The Society For Improvement Of Rural (SIRP) argues that Nigeria became like this through a repeated cycle of corrupt leaders who do not care about the welfare of Nigerians so instead of providing various employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed population in this country they prefer to siphon money and invest it in foreign countries thereby helping to develop those countries.

For Mr. Ntienyong Udoh a broadcast journalist, when a country’s economic blue print does not address the basic needs of her citizenry what you get is white elephant projects rather than Human resource investment. Developed and developing countries understand the model of human capital but not Nigeria as published documents according to budgit https://bit.ly/2Ov0PiK show that a Nigerian senator earns 19,982,600.00 a year in salary, while House of Representatives members earn 15,259,440.00 but that’s not all because for lawmakers, the big pays come in form of generous allowances which when put together displays that each lawmaker cost taxpayers 196,192,800.00 to maintain as of 2017, so how does a public office holder in the same Nigeria that has the highest number of poor people take home that much? It is because the concern of Nigerians does not mean anything to the public office holders and that is why the poor can afford to sell their votes just to eat today.

We can overcome this by beginning to demand for accountability, reports of projects and follow the trail of earmarked funds, some Civil Society Organizations and Concerned Nigerian Citizens are already doing this but more citizens need to be enlightened. Both the electorates and the elected should lay more emphasis on entrepreneurship and skills development. The more people network and patronize each other’s goods and services the easier it becomes to keep one another smiling to the bank. The media has to do more and Civil Society organizations need to restrategize their approach, SDGs Implementers must adopt the human angle model if at all we must meet Agenda 2030 of the United Nations and meet the aspirations of Agenda 2063 that envisions the “Africa We Want. The present administration’s anchor of the economy over the long term investments in infrastructure and competitiveness must go hand in hand with investment in people. People without roads ports and factories can’t flourish. And roads, ports and factories without skilled workers to build and manage them can’t sustain an economy.

Finally, any government that invests in human capital is capable of transforming the financial, environmental, technical and social capital into a viable economy and it is a way to achieve sustainable development goal 1.

Delta South Senatorial Seat not for clueless person – Orette

Posted on August 30, 2018. Filed under: Press Release |

Praises Buhari for sanitizing the system

A senatorial aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Austin Ovuigwerie Orette has promised to attract federal presence and foreign investment to Delta South.

He also promised to create better opportunities for the people.

“Are the people much better now than they were eight years ago? Some of the aspirants belong to the past and bringing them back is like putting old wine in a new bottle” he said.

Orette spoke about his readiness to represent the people of Delta South and what he calls poor performance.

“I’m in the race to free the people. I’m interested in solving problems. I’ll be Delta South Senator in 2019. I need to serve the people” he said.

He also spoke on the issue of zoning in the senatorial district.

“You don’t zone what you don’t have”

Giving an insight into his blue print, Orette said he would spread the dividends of democracy to all nooks and crannies of the senatorial zone.

“Politics is about service.  It is about empowering the people and developing the area. It is not about accumulating wealth” the graduate from the Medical School of the University of Nigeria said.

“We have a lot of problems in the senatorial district.”

He promised to focus on security, health care, economy, education, infrastructure and youth employment.

“Delta South needs someone that can solve problems.”

Orette is not kidding about his aspiration.

Currently in America to sharpen his arsenal which he is expected to fire from all cylinders in the next couple of days, the Isoko born politician said “what I’m aspiring for is very near to my reach”

“We need someone with fresh ideas? We need someone that can fight against evils that hold back development. You don’t have to recycle old leaders.”

Orette accused the tycoons of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of shutting down the opportunities, starving the people and using stolen funds to enslave them.

He called on the people to support his senatorial ambition.

“Take your rightful place, choose the right people who will reconstruct what has been destroyed by some individuals in the state” he said.

He also praised President Muhammadu Buhari for sanitizing the system.

NAFEST 2018: Rivers PDP Chairman, Obuah applauds Gov. Wike’s patriotism despite attacks

Posted on August 28, 2018. Filed under: Press Release |

For delightfully accepting to host the 2018 National Festival for Arts and Culture (NAFEST) and continuing to work assiduously to make this year’s edition of the annual festival the best in recent years despite glaring attacks and provocations by the All Progressives Congress-led federal government, Governor Nyesom Wike has sufficiently demonstrated unwavering love and commitment to one united and indivisible democratic Nigeria.

Bro. Felix Obuah, the Rivers State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) made this observation against the backdrop of the ongoing preparations for the festival showcased during the opening ceremony of National Technical Committee meeting of NAFEST at Hotel Presidential, Port Harcourt Tuesday, August 28, 2018.

The State PDP Chairman said for Gov. Wike to remain committed to the 2018 NAFEST which Rivers State government last year won the right to host, epitomizes him as a leader with a good heart for according to him, the test of a person’s character is how he behaves when attacked especially innocently.

Bro. Obuah said the nationally and internationally acknowledged best performing Governor Wike has by his comportment and calm disposition in the face of antagonism by the federal government, using all apparatus of power such as the security agencies, FSARS, EFCC etc to disrupt elections and cause disorder in the State has demonstrated that he is indeed, a patriot and democrat to the core.

The State PDP boss wondered why rather than borrow a leaf from this pace setter and agent for genuine democratic ideals, those he described as having nothing to contribute to the development of the country have remained hell-bent on fanning the embers of disunity in Nigeria.

Bro. Obuah reassured that Gov. Wike’s vision for Rivers State and by extension, Nigeria will go on unobstructed notwithstanding the efforts of these enemies of progress.

One other way of further proving his sense of maturity and genuine concern for all Nigerians, Bro. Obuah noted, is the seriousness and funfare that will be given to the 2018 NAFEST by the Wike administration.

Bro. Obuah therefore enjoined all Nigerians and particularly tourists and investors to take advantage of the usual Rivers hospitality, the huge infrastructural development of the Wike administration and above all, the prevailing peace across the State and join the people and government of Rivers State to make this year’s NAFEST, which holds on October 21 – 27, 2018, a success and the best of its kind in Nigeria.

Plot by Gov. Wike to Indirectly Levy Students of Tertiary Institutions Uncovered – Rivers APC

Posted on August 28, 2018. Filed under: Press Release |

…After duping Rivers State of N117B through illegal bank withdrawals

The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, has uncovered an ongoing plot by Gov. Nyesom Wike to levy students of all tertiary institutions in Rivers State various sums of money through the heads of such institutions to support the 2019 campaigns of the governor.

This was disclosed by the State Chairman of the APC, Hon. Ojukaye Flag-Amachree in a chat with journalists in his office in Port Harcourt over the weekend.

According to the Chairman, the scheme has already commenced by the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE), Rumuolumeni, Port Harcourt in a circular by the school authorities requesting students of the institution to pay a dubious entrepreneurship training levy of N20,000 each student.

“The collection of this fee of N20,000 is part of a grand design by Gov. Wike to use the heads of tertiary institutions in Rivers State to raise funds through sundry levies to support the governor’s 2019 campaigns. Already, students of IAUE have been served a circular to that effect.

“The plan includes levying each student to submit their typed projects with a payment of N20, 000 each for the binding of such projects. You can imagine how callous this governor can be,” Ojukaye declared.

Speaking further, the APC State Chairman wondered why the governor should compound the problems of students and their parents in Rivers State at a time families are going through rough time to survive.

“In most other states in Nigeria, governors are alleviating the burden on students and their parents through scholarships and bursaries but here in Rivers State Gov. Wike is heartlessly inflicting pains and anguish on students and their parents.

“It is disheartening how we got to this sorry pass. Elsewhere, caring governors in many states are paying students bursaries and awarding scholarships just to lessen the burden on students and their parents. But here, Gov. Wike withdrew young men and women the previous administration placed on foreign scholarships and now he is levying students in local institutions in the State to raise money for his 2019 political campaigns. This is wickedness at its highest level.

“Most saddening is that this whole thing is happening at a time the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has uncovered fraudulent withdrawals of over N117bn of our money by Gov. Nyesom Wike since he assumed office in 2015 with no explanation or purpose,” Ojukaye revealed.

The APC State Chairman called on students and parents to resist the various suspect levies the various tertiary institutions are demanding from them as such spurious levies are meant to fund the insatiable lust for money by Gov. Wike.

“Let me appeal to our students and their parents not to succumb to the fraudulent levies Wike is using heads of tertiary institutions to request from students. Students and parents should vehemently reject the levies; they should refuse to pay those illegal levies as they are only meant to fund Wike’s 2019 campaigns,” Ojukaye urged.

Nigeria, Rivers State: Stoppage of 255 demonstration schools workers is unlawful – Court

Posted on August 28, 2018. Filed under: Press Release |

The National Industrial Court has ruled that the non-payment of salaries to 255 workers of the various Demonstration Primary and Secondary Schools in Rivers State since 2016 is unlawful and null and void.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, had in February, 2016 directed immediate stoppage of salaries of workers in the Demonstration schools in the Rivers State University, Nkpolu, Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Rumuolumeni and the Ken Saro Wiwa Polytechnic, Bori.

The Governor had stated that the Rivers state government would no longer pay salary of the workers where pupils pay some forms of fees.

In the court case instituted in May, 2016, the 255 workers insisted that they were genuine employees of the Rivers State Government and so deserve all the entitlements in the civil service.

Giving a judgment in the case that has lasted for 2 years, Justice Salisu H. Danjidda, of the Owerri Division of the National Industrial Court, on 13th July, 2018 ruled that the substantive employment of the 300 workers are valid, legal and have statutory protection.

Justice Danjidda said that the stoppage of the salaries by Governor Wike is unlawful, null and void. The court has also restrained the state government from interfering with the employment of the workers.

The case was filed in May 2016 in the Yenagoa division and later moved to the Owerri division in November, 2017. The judgment was entered on June, 13th, 2018.

The affected workers last received salaries in January, 2016, making 30 months at the end of July, 2018 without pay.

According to the lawyer to the workers, Mr. Damian Okoro, 8 of the staff had died during this period, a development that has forced countless children of the workers out of school because of no salary.

It has also become very difficult for the staff to pay house rent and that the psychological breakdown and emotional torture could best be imagined. It is important to note that a good number of the staff have put in well over 20 years into the service of Rivers State Government.

The workers now want to government to clear their outstanding salaries to enable them live normal life as they have continued to carry out their daily activities in the various schools since the salary stoppage.

It is important to note that 255 workers represent those that are actively in court, doing the legal processes, while 300 represent the total number of workers affected by the stoppage.

Mr. Amadi Bestman

Enetsud Laments the Vandalisation of Electrical Equipment in Kwara State Communities

Posted on August 20, 2018. Filed under: Press Release |

Elites Network for Sustainable Development (ENetSuD), a Kwara-based Civil Society Organisation, has lamented the incessant vandalisation of electrical equipment across various parts of Kwara state.

The civil society organisation in a statement made available to Journalists and signed by the organisation’s Deputy Coordinator for Special Duties, Mr. Sideeq Bola Mustapha, ENetSuD noted that government properties have been poorly maintained, vandalised, and often sabotaged by men of the underworld.

He further states that “in addition to series of press statement previously released by ENetSuD on the pitiable state of government infrastructure in Patigi local government in Kwara state, we are also reporting that this local government is now a hotspot for criminality and all forms of vandalisation of electrical installations. These acts have deprived many residents in the community of the very little share of their electricity supply. In one of their nefarious activities, it was also reported that the industrial oil of various transformers in Patigi Township was drained by miscreants about a year ago. In addition, the armoured cable of another transformer at Ragada village was also vandalised several months ago. Furthermore, the armoured cables of the transformers at ECWA Church junction and General Hospital road were equally stolen by unknown persons- this happened some weeks ago.”

“It might not be surprising to learn that the vandalisation and theft of Electical facilities across the state might be a sabotage that are not without the collaboration of some bad eggs in the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) in those aforementioned communities”, said ENetSuD.

The statement reads: “This claim could be substantiated with the report that the recent culprits of some electrical equipment were in the same commercial bus with Patigi PHCN manager from Patigi to Ilorin. The bus driver, on noticing the concealed large quantity of stolen PHCN armoured cables in a sack when he wanted to alight passengers in Ilorin, immediately alerted the Patigi PHCN Manager who occupied the front seat of the same bus. The driver reported the Manager to have unexpectedly taken the matter lightly and waved it off by saying “I don’t know where they could have gotten it from.”

“Patigi residents, who have reported the matter to the NSCDC office in Patigi for investigation, condemned this act of indifference exhibited by the Manager, as he was expected to have at least questioned those culprits, seized the armoured cables and immediately alert the security agencies if they have no reasonable explanation for being in possession of the P.H.C.N materials.

“The Patigi branch of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has also commendably taken proactive measures to forestall the reoccurrence of this theft by enforcing proper checks of passengers’ luggage at the garage before departure.

“A few weeks ago, we were also aware of the theft of armoured cables of another transformer at Wambai Compound area by unknown criminals. Usually, every household in any area affected by unfortunate incidents of vandalism and theft of electrical facilities go through the excruciating pain of compulsorily contributing particular amounts from their hard earned income. We are lauding the intervention of the Executive Chairman of Patigi LGA, Alhaji Jibril Salihu Gabi, who provided the required quantity of armoured cables from the store at Patigi LGA secretariat for immediate reconnection to the transformers of the concerned areas, a gesture that had made the residents of the affected areas to be enjoying the very little share of epileptic power supply along with other residents in unaffected areas in Patigi LGA.

“We hereby call on local authorities, security agencies, and government to collaborate on the protection and maintenance of government properties for the enjoyment of the citizens.”

Rivers APC condemns use of govt house police by CSO to disrupt bye-election in PHALGA III

Posted on August 19, 2018. Filed under: Press Release |

The Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, has observed with great disappointment and shock the use of Government House Port Harcourt police security to cart away electoral materials, rig and cause general disruption in the Saturday PHALGA 3 State Constituency bye-election in Rivers State.

“In the full view of the general public, the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to Gov. Nyesom Wike led armed policemen attached to the Government House to assault innocent APC party agents and supporters, snatch electoral sensitive materials and generally disrupt the bye-election with a view to rigging the process in favour of the PDP candidate or in some cases prevent lawful voters from exercising their franchise” Rivers APC alleged in press statement issued today in Port Harcourt by its Publicity Secretary Chris Finebone.

According to Finebone, “It was with heavy heart that APC leaders, members and the public watched on as the PDP and their officials in Rivers State used policemen and armed militants to cause fracas in some wards during the bye-election in PHALGA 3, Rivers State. The sad development happened in the same fashion that PDP had deployed in rigging elections in the past especially during the 2015 elections and the rerun elections that followed.”

The Rivers State chapter of APC condemned the blatant intervention in the bye-election process in PHALGA 3 by Gov. Wike’s CSO using policemen attached to the Government House, against the established guideline that such policemen are barred from accompanying officials of government to polling stations on Election Day.

However, the APC applauded the brave intervention by security agents that ensured that the activities of the PDP did not substantially affect the overall outcome of the bye-election.

In a related development, the Rivers State Chapter of All Progressives Congress, APC, has noted with disappointment the hasty decision of the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) to suspend Saturday’s Port Harcourt Local Government Area [PHALGA] Constituency 3 bye-election process at the collation stage.

The APC in a statement made available journalists today by the party’s spokesman, Mr. Chris Finebone said: “It is unfortunate that what should be a mere state constituency bye-election witnessed pockets of voter intimidation, harassment, vote-buying and shooting activated by the PDP in line with their usual character of rigging elections through killing and maiming of APC members.”

The statement reads: “It is worthy of note that security agents gallantly rose to the occasion and effectively quelled the pockets of violence that threatened the exercise in some wards in the constituency, leading to the eventual collation of results at the St. Andrew’s premises.

“However, APC and the general public were later to be informed that INEC has suspended the process at the point of collation of results. We want to believe that the suspension is to allow INEC officials to sort itself out and conclude the process accordingly. As a political party, APC is not questioning the judgment or discretionary powers of INEC to make decisions about the bye-election, however, such decisions must strictly conform to relevant laws guiding the system and specifically do not include cancellation of a process that has commenced.

“However, it is pertinent to remind INEC and reassure APC members and the public that, when it comes to any election process that has commenced, the powers of INEC end at suspension of the process for evaluation and eventual conclusion. Such powers do not include cancellation as widely and erroneously peddled. It is only the tribunal or court that can decide on the cancellation of such a process on approach by relevant stakeholders.

“The APC views the wording of the memo suspending the PHALGA 3 bye-election as substantially mendacious, unnecessarily alarmist and generally convoluted with sinister innuendos by the author in a way that does not represent an accurate assessment of the process so far. We hope that INEC will not be misled to derail or embark on a line of action that will leave her with a legal bad nose. This will neither be to the benefit of INEC nor the system in any way.

“In view of the need to timeously conclude the bye-election process and douse the anxiety of voters in the constituency, APC calls on INEC to swiftly and fairly do the needful and subsequently conclude the process and declare the result accordingly. It must be emphasised that INEC has no luxury of options over the matter than to audit the process up to the collation stage when the process was suspended and direct action towards bringing the process to a conclusion.

“Meanwhile, the APC reassured its members in PHALGA Constituency 3 and across Rivers State to be calm and go about their normal lives as INEC has no option than to do the right thing by auditing and subsequently concluding the election process it suspended at the collation stage.”

Eze Exposes ‘Evil Pact’ Between Wike, Abe for 2023 Governorship

Posted on August 15, 2018. Filed under: Press Release |

…Asks Nigerians to Ignore Abe’s propaganda on his nomination

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has revealed evil pact between Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, and the Senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Magnus Abe.

Eze, who was responding to recent media attacks against him by thesocial media team of Sen. Abe, said the pact is to make Abe a governorship candidate in 2023 but by first weakening the Rivers State lchapter of APC and reducing the influence and powers of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, erstwhile governor of Rivers State and incumbent Minster of Transportation.

“In my recent press statements which resulted in the media attack against my person and personality by the Magnus Governorship Campaign Organisation Social Media Team, I exposed how Distinguished Senator Magnus Abe connived with some influential All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftains to sabotage the electoral fortunes of the party and its candidate, Dr. Dakuku Adol Peterside, in the 2015 governorship election.

“Instead of Abe’s Social Media Team addressing the salient issues that I raised, they came after my person and integrity. What was my ‘sin’? In my press statements, I posited that Peterside emerged to fly the flag of APC during the 2015 general elections based on the exigency of the upland and riverine dichotomy and the injustice visited on the riverine section of Rivers State by denying them the topmost seat in Rivers State these past twenty years. I explained that it was to assuage the fact of neglect of the riverine area as the upland had consistently governed Rivers State for 20 years through Dr. PeterOdili, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi and Nyesom Wike, that APC elected lPeterside to fly her flag.

“According to their flimsy reaction against my person, “By behaving like a bull in a China shop and savagely attacking Abe, Eze keeps his own credit line open from his sponsors. And there is nobody in Rivers State who do(sic) not know who those sponsors are and who Eze is.”

This assumption, though very false, as I am not under anybody’s payroll, only showed my attackers as persons not after justice, equity and fairness but pretenders whose sole aim in the politics of Rivers State is pursuance of their wicked plot to cause disunity and disharmony among APC members.

“I reiterate that Senator Magnus Abe is my personal friend and associate and whom I have in the past, promoted in various ways, his political aspiration. I have nothing against his political aspiration but committed to correcting the prodigious, devious and erroneous impression being peddled on daily basis against the Rivers State APC and its leader, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

Eze maintained that despite unwarranted abuses over his stand on justice and equity in Rivers politics, he would not be intimidated or frustrated out of his chosen task of stating the facts.

Eze, who restated that Senator Abe is entitled to pursue his ambition, however, said that doing so by running down the very institution that he intends to use to actualize his aspiration was most unfortunate and sad.

“The fact remains that every effort was made to accommodate Abe and his supporters in the conduct of the Congresses in Rivers State but that Senator Abe and his Team were not interested in the party holding a peaceful congress. Abe has shown sufficient reason to question his loyalty to APC. Today Abe has dragged the party to court without first exploring every internal conflict resolution mechanism as contained in the party’s constitution. Today Abe has set up a parallel state secretariat when there is no factional state party executive. How else can someone show disloyalty and disrespect to a group he claims to belong?

“According to Abe and those promoting him, he is the only one who can bring governorship victory in Rivers State for APC, a party he shall have destroyed. What an ambition!

Eze reasoned that Abe has shown sufficient evidence that he is working in tandem and in liaison with Governor Nyesom Wike’s to ruin APC and possibly prevent the party from presenting a governorship candidate in the 2019 election. Wike understands that an APC governorship will sack him from the Brick House in 2019.

To add to that, Abe already parades himself as the “next governor of Rivers State” even when he knows that his pact with Wike is for him (Abe) to run in 2023 with Wike’s support.

Eze noted that the goal is to humiliate Amaechi but God will never pallow the evil pact to make Governor Wike to continue with his shameless and purposeless administration till 2023 to materialise when he intends to relinquish power to Senator Abe.

“While others working with Abe and Wike in the evil plot have joined the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Abe is still in APC to play the spoiler’s role.

“Today, Wike has gone further from all he has done to destroy APC to procure a building complex situated at Waterlines in Port Harcourt to serve as APC State Secretariat for Senator Abe and his team. Yet Wike and Abe are aware that the party has a functional State Secretariat in Port Harcourt from where duly elected members of the State Working Committee serve the party.

He reiterated that despite the evil collaboration between Abe and his sponsors, Wike will not stay a day longer after May 29, 2019 as RiversState Governor.

Eze asks Nigerians to ignore the current propaganda being peddled in the social media by Abe’s Team of his nomination to fly the flag of APC in Rivers State during the 2019.general elections describing such nomination as the imagination of those peddling such a non existence approval as the National Leadership of APC under the watch of Comrade Adams Oshimhole can’t be involved in such an illegailty and undemocratic act of imposing a candidate that has become a tool in decimation of the party in Rivers State.

Eze accused Abe and his social media team of being the masterminds of the negative press against Amaechi recently which presented him as being at loggerheads with Adams Oshiomhole, APC National Chairman, and Senator Bola Tinubu, an APC national leader. He said it was part of Abe and his team’s grand plan to possibly bring down Amaechi.

Eze, however, appealed to President Muhamnadu Buhari not to allow those who have eyes on the Presidency in 2023 to destroy all that APC has achieved in Rivers State.

He encouraged all APC supporters to keep faith in Amaechi and that God will not allow the enemies of the party to succeed in their plots to destroy or ruin APC against its desire to rescue Rivers state from the hands of misguided leaders.

Eze finally pleads with his good friend, Senator Abe to stop deceiving the public as he is aware that his pranks and tricks are before the public purview and no serious minded politician in Rivers State takes him serious anymore.

The chairman of the Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah has described the sudden death of the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Emmanuel Chinwenwo Aguma (SAN), as one loss too many.

In his condolence message the State PDP Chairman noted that the erudite legal luminary was a special gift not only to the Aguma family but to the entire State, stressing that the greatest loss is not his physical death but what has died ‘inside us while we live’.

Bro Obuah pinpointed the amazing wisdom and demonstrable knowledge of the law, enviable infectious linguistic excellence, humility and political sagacity as the special attributes and trademarks of the late Attorney-General.

“Without mincing words or pretending, I make bold to say that we have lost a genius which has created a vacuum almost impossible to find a replacement”, the State PDP boss lamented.

He expressed his deep condolences and those of the leadership and members of the PDP in Rivers to the entire Aguma family, particularly his beloved wife, children and the Rivers State Governor, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike, enjoining them to see the loss as not only to them but also to the entire State.

Bro Obuah said the memories of the late Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice,  Emma Aguma will forever live in the minds of his loved ones and friends, noting that notwithstanding the physical transformation, ‘to live in someone’s heart is not to die’.

The State PDP chairman prayed God to grant the wife, children, the State Governor and the entire Aguma family the grace to carry on faithfully without the physical presence of the great icon and legal expert.
