Damning Revelations the Beginning of the End Of Wike Administration – Rivers APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has demanded the resignation of the State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike in the wake of the shocking revelation by Mr. Livingstone Wechie, the Executive Director of the Integrity Group.

Mr. Wechie had recently revealed that all the documents his group used to petition the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) in a letter dated July 29, 2015 and addressed to the Senate President in a failed bid to stop the confirmation of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as a Minister were all fabricated by the Rivers State Government under the watch of Governor Wike. The tantalising petition, which has now been confirmed to be fake, was laid on the floor of the Senate on August 8, 2015 and followed up with the summoning of Amaechi before the Senate Committee on Public Petitions, Ethics and Privileges on October 12, 2015.

“The revelation by Mr. Wechie and the Integrity Group vindicates our position that Governor Wike is a fraud, diabolical and that his evil administration was foisted on Rivers State by former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan,” Rivers APC said in a statement issued on Thursday in Port Harcourt.

“Governor Wike’s desperation to ridicule Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, his benefactor, mentor and predecessor in office with forged documents. He is bereft of ideas and has no business in the Rivers State Government House. His administration has only succeeded to bring shame, odium and embarrassment to Rivers State and her people. He has for dubious reasons refused to pay our civil servants and Pensioners their salaries and entitlements; he has turned our State to Rivers of blood where human sanctity no longer has any meaning. He has destroyed our economic base and made it possible for foreign investors to invest in the State. Shamelessly, he made the world to believe that he can run a State like Rivers State like Chiefdom with only one paged budgetary provision. He has turned our State from the garden city it used to be to Rivers of dustbin. Our schools are now haven for criminals because he decides to close all the modern schools constructed by the golden administration of Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi. Enough of this rascality. If he has any shame he should save us this agony and formally resign without any further delay, failing which the State House of Assembly should commence impeachment proceedings against him if it is not a rubber stamp as widely believed,” the party statement in the statement signed by the State Chairman, Chief (Dr.) Davies Ibiamu Ikanya.

Rivers APC urged the people of the State “to unite so that we can collectively liberate our State from the demons that have hijacked and turned it into Rivers State of blood.”

Obuah Warns Against Continued Harassment, Intimidation Of Sanitation Workers By Security Agents

The Sole Administrator of the Rivers State Waste Management Agency (RIWAMA), Bro. Felix Obuah has again called on security agencies, especially the Police, to stop the incessant undue arrest, harassment and intimidation of Sanitation Workers who clean the City at nights.

Bro. Obuah, in a statement in Port Harcourt said the call became necessary as the continual arrest and harassment of Sanitation Workers is capable of subverting the efforts of the Agency to keep the State clean and healthy.

The Sole Administrator emphasized that the job of cleaning the City at the odd hours of the night is indispensable and should be commended, adding that those who carry out this legitimate assignments ought to be appreciated rather than hounded and dumped into police cells.

Bro. Obuah also appealed to the Police to assist the Agency by ensuring that the cleaners are not molested or intimidated by hoodlums who interrupt or obstruct the services at nights.

“Rather than these indiscriminate arrests and throwing of the cleaners into the cells, anyone found wanting should rather be referred to our office at Mile 4, Ikwerre Road, for immediate consideration and prompt action accordingly”, the RIWAMA boss stated.

Bro. Obuah, who cautioned on the implication of locking up these cleaners which, in most cases, takes two to three days, warned it may lead to environmental crisis, adding that one hour of interruption in the waste disposal process has attendant economic and social implications.

The Sole Administrator however, called for urgent understanding and cooperation of Security Agencies in this regard, adding that the task of cleaning the environment and restoring the Garden City status of the State is a collective effort of all, including the Police and other security agencies.

“All hands must be on deck to ensure a garbage-free Rivers State and the security agencies have a role to play in that regard”, Bro. Obuah said, adding that arresting, harassing and intimidating sanitation workers who clean the City at night would discourage them, thereby leaving the City littered with filths.
